ADHD Assessments and tailored sessions

Our assessments offer a full comprehensive evaluation designed to identify Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder in individuals of all ages. We aim to understand the individual’s unique challenges and strengths, as well as to differentiate ADHD from other possible disorders.

Our assessments not only focus on identifying ADHD but also provide recommendations for our tailored intervention sessions, and support strategies.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a proven psychotherapy that helps individuals identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviours. It focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and actions, aiming to improve emotional well-being. CBT is goal-oriented and commonly used to treat anxiety, depression, phobias, and PTSD.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a therapy that helps individuals process traumatic memories using bilateral stimulation (e.g., eye movements or taps). This technique reduces the emotional intensity of distressing memories, aiding recovery from PTSD, anxiety, phobias, and emotional challenges, ultimately supporting healing and well-being.

Compassion Focused Therapy

Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) is a therapeutic approach developed by Paul Gilbert that integrates cognitive-behavioural techniques with principles of compassion and mindfulness. The therapy aims to help individuals cultivate compassion for themselves and others as a means to alleviate psychological distress.

CFT is grounded in the understanding that many mental health issues arise from issues related to self-criticism, shame, and a lack of self-compassion.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a form of psychotherapy that emphasises psychological flexibility. It combines mindfulness and behavioural change strategies to help individuals accept their thoughts and feelings rather than fighting against them. ACT encourages people to commit to personal values and take meaningful action towards living a fulfilling life, even in the presence of difficult emotions or thoughts.

Clinical Supervision

Clinical supervision is a supportive relationship where an experienced clinician guides and mentors a less experienced clinician. It ensures high-quality care, fosters professional growth, and involves discussions on cases, ethical issues, and skill development. This process is essential for maintaining competence and well-being, benefiting both clinicians and their clients.
